Over the past year, scientists in Massachusetts’s 5th congressional district have been organizing through the Science Network, at the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) to protect scientific integrity and funding for scientific research.
UCS invites you to join Rep. Katherine Clark (MA-5) and members of the Massachusetts science community for a public conversation about how federal decisions are affecting scientific research, public health, clean energy, technology, and the people whose work and lives depend on them.
This town hall creates an opportunity for researchers, healthcare professionals, students, innovators, and community members to share directly with Rep. Clark what they are experiencing and discuss what federal leadership can make possible.
The program will include a moderated conversation with Rep. Clark focused on:
– How federal policy decisions are affecting science and research in Massachusetts;
– What those impacts mean for patients, workers, students, communities, and the economy;
– How constituent experiences can inform Rep. Clark’s action in Congress;
– Opportunities to protect scientific progress and support future innovation; and
– How scientists and community members can continue to engage with Rep. Clark.
Audience members will also have an opportunity to submit questions in advance for the moderated discussion.
