LexCAN is committed to working for a more sustainable world and working for environmental justice. Climate change affects communities disproportionately. We have a responsibility to share the burden as allies in the climate fight for environmental justice. We all share the same sky and earth and need to care for each other as well as our planet.
We approach our mission through three areas of action:
Educate
LexCAN encourages understanding, knowledge and confidence in order to promote climate action.
Advocate
LexCAN studies and takes positions on legislation and policies in Lexington and on the state and federal level.
Collaborate
LexCAN believes the combined work of organizations is the most effective way to solve the climate crisis. In that spirit, we partner with other Lexington groups in ways that complement and augment LexCAN’s work.
