The Boston Foundation, in partnership with the Building Electrification Institute and Firefly Consulting, invite you to join us for a presentation and conversation focused on our latest climate report, Leveraging Catalytic Capital for Small Residential Building Decarbonization in Boston.

In 2024, The Boston Foundation released Powering Up Together report which examined the barriers slowing residential building decarbonization in Boston–particularly for low- and moderate-income (LMI) households–and identified catalytic capital as a promising tool for accelerating equitable progress. Building on that foundation, The research team developed this report, a technical addendum, that identifies where catalytic capital can have the greatest near-term impact.

At this forum we will begin by sharing how we evaluated opportunities to address capital-related barriers facing Boston’s small and medium residential buildings. Then, we will present the set of prioritized, actionable strategies for deploying mission-driven capital alongside existing public and utility programs to expand equitable access to residential decarbonization for LMI households across Boston’s diverse housing stock. Following the research presentation we will have a panel conversation with key stakeholders invested in this work, and conclude with audience Q&A.
