The Town of Lexington is piloting a Pocket Forest at Lincoln Park to help rebuild an ecosystem, reduce pollution, and create a future shady area for visitors to relax by! In order to make this a reality, we need YOU to help volunteer to make this idea into a reality!
On September 20, come to LexCAN’s Sun Day Celebration and help with the site preparation and learn just how simple the process is! We will be removing tape from cardboard, then laying on the ground and covering it with a thick layer of wood chips. This process is called “sheet mulching”. Whether you only have time to move a couple buckets of mulch or can stay until the process done, please join us!
Bring: gardening gloves, shovels, pitch forks, buckets, empty/clean wheeled compost bins, and cardboard (uncoated only).
All of the above items are optional. We will have extra supplies on-site.
