As Lexington’s commemorative 250th year comes to a close, the town’s Department of Public Works and its Tree Committee are joining forces again to order and give away 250 beautiful, native saplings to residents.
The small ornamentals have already been spoken for but we still have some beautiful medium sized (hornbeam) and large (oak, river birch, tupelo, cedar and holly) tree species available. The full list, with pictures, is easily visible at signup. The last day to order will be April 18.
Trees may be picked up at the DPW on 2 consecutive Saturdays: May 2, and May 9, from 9 AM to 12 Noon. Some free mulch (bring a container) will also be available.
