Massachusetts Energy Efficiency Partnership Class: Introduction to Building Envelope Assessment & Weatherization (Norwood)

Intro training on building envelope and how to improve efficiency and comfort through weatherization of commercial/institutional facilities

This class is also being held on May 6 in Westborough. Register for only one of these two sessions!

For those who have some background on the subject or want to get into more depth after this class, we are offering an intermediate class on May 7 in Westborough.

In the introductory class (April 14 or May 6), we will start with envelope basics: the 4 control layers, insulation types, and air barrier principals. Then we will cover evaluation techniques and auditing the envelope on existing commercial and institutional buildings. In the intermediate class (May 7), we will go over the most common envelope improvements and cover challenges and potential risks with implementation. We will also go deeper into the techniques used to evaluate and prioritize building envelope opportunities, including energy modeling and cost estimating. In both classes, we will discuss approaches to selling building envelope upgrades. There will be activities throughout where students will work in teams to practice what they have learned.
