The Town of Lexington is moving forward with plans to modernize our waste collection system to reduce waste and protect us from rising costs. We need input from the community to help design an updated waste collection program that will work for all residents.
Join the Waste Reduction Task Force for a presentation that will explain why changes to our waste management system are needed, and what kind of changes are being considered. Topics include:
– Expanding food waste diversion
– Moving to automated collection with standard bin sizes
– Addressing excess waste
– Implementing a more equitable bulky item fee structure
– Creating more accessible diversion opportunities
There will be opportunities to ask questions and to provide input on these topics.
