The town of Carlisle, MA recently passed a native plant policy that requires a minimum of 70% native straight species to be used in projects on municipal land. Advocates for this policy will talk about their process, any pitfalls they encountered, and what they learned that could help other municipalities pass similar policies of their own.

Christina Christodoulopoulos is a member of the Carlisle Environmental Sustainability Committee, where she focuses on ecosystem, habitat and wildlife protection. The importance and use of native plants are the foundation of her advocacy.

Judy Asarkof is a co-Chair of the Land Stewardship Committee, a subcommittee of the Carlisle Conservation Commission. In her spare time, Judy focuses on documenting the dynamic biodiversity found in Carlisle, especially highlighting diversity hotspots.
