Join Green Newton and the Newton Parks, Recreation & Culture Department for a fun-filled afternoon of solar-powered STEM!
Kids will decorate and build their own solar ovens, then use the power of the sun to make delicious s’mores. While the solar ovens work their magic, kids can enjoy clean-energy-themed field games, and parents can chat with Green Newton’s Energy Advocate about ways to save energy and reduce carbon emissions at home.
Once the chocolate is melted and the marshmallows are warm, we’ll gather together to enjoy solar-powered s’mores and fresh lemonade.
This hands-on event is a great way for kids and adults alike to learn about clean energy while having fun in the park.
