  • Karen Kraut (Mothers Out Front & Gas Transition Allies) will brief us on recent developments, including the delay of the House Energy Affordability bill (H.4744) and the status of the Municipal Voices bill (S.2248/H.3446) and the Tactical Transitions bill (S.2249/H.3539).
• How will we pay for thermal networks and retrofits?
  • Audrey Schulman (Black Swan Lab) will introduce an innovative financing solution involving revenue bonds to pay for boreholes and building retrofits, without raising taxes or energy bills.
• What actions can municipalities and advocates take to affect infrastructure planning and advance electrification?
  • Anne Wright (Mothers Out Front) will offer a primer on how to comment on gas company plans for gas work in your city/town.
  • Arlington Environmental Planner David Morgan will give an overview of a citizens’ petition proposing a resolution in support of accelerating the gas transition to be considered by Arlington Annual Town Meeting this spring.
  • Peter Barrer (Newton Gas Pipes Team & Gas Transition Allies) and Newton City Councilor Susan Albright on engagement between the Newton City Council, National Grid, and local advocates to develop a planning process for the gas transition in Newton.
