The State Senate will imminently take up this session’s major climate bill. Despite many positive provisions, MCAN has concerns; the largest is that the House version includes a devastating $1 billion cut to Mass Save. Climate advocates must mobilize now to ensure that the bill that ends up on the Governor’s desk contains the best provisions possible.

June 15th at noon: MCAN is proud to have Dan Zackin and Mark Dyen of 350 Mass provide a virtual presentation on pressing legislative developments and how you can help ensure Massachusetts remains a leader on climate action.

Program with q&a for the first hour, then open discussion until 1:30.

Speakers:
Dan Zackin is the Legislative Manager with 350 Mass. He coordinates their statewide network to advocate for climate justice on Beacon Hill; co-leads the MA Make Polluters Pay campaign; and co-facilitates the Mass Power Forward Coalition. In his free time, he loves to bike and bake bread. He lives in Jamaica Plain.
Mark Dyen is an energy efficiency and renewable energy advocate and retired energy efficiency entrepreneur. As an advocate since the early 1970’s Mark was involved in the creation and adoption of energy policy reforms, including the creation of Mass Save, reforms in electric rate design and adoption of consumer protections, such as the law that forbids utility shut offs during the winter. As one of the founders and managers of Conservation Services Group, Mark helped design and implement energy efficiency programs in 23 states and the province of Quebec over a 25 year career.
