In a one-day class, learn the fundamentals of commercial building controls, building management systems, and related energy efficiency opportunities. Hosted by Massachusetts Energy Efficiency Partnership (MAEEP).

  • What Is a Building Management System (BMS)? – Overview, key definitions, and acronyms
  • HVAC Equipment Overview – Air handlers, boilers, chillers, and other mechanical systems
  • BMS Field Devices – Sensors, actuators, valves and power supplies
  • Input/Output (I/O) Layer – Controller types, Inputs and Outputs, and everything in between.
  • BMS Protocols and Front-End Interfaces – Legacy systems, BACnet MSTP/IP, LonWorks, Modbus, REST API, and user graphics/trending
  • Mass Save speaker: programs and incentives
  • Project Opportunity Types – implementation strategies to save energy with building automation
