Kick off Bike, Walk, & Bus month by getting to school the fun way! The first Wednesday in May is Massachusetts Walk, Bike, & Roll to school day. Join families across the state for this annual event. You may think “Why should I walk, bike, or take the bus? I already have an electric vehicle, so I don’t have any carbon emissions. While EVs don’t have any tailpipe emissions, they aren’t zero-carbon. Mining the raw materials for batteries, manufacturing, and generating the electricity they run on produces emissions, as well as other negative environmental impacts. Switching to EVs is an important harm reduction tactic, but it’s not the final solution.
