Join Green Newton and the Newton Parks, Recreation & Culture Department for a creative afternoon of sustainability and fun!

Families will transform everyday materials into one-of-a-kind costumes, hats, instruments, and parade creations using recycled items from home and materials we’ll provide.

Please bring a clean toilet paper roll or small cardboard box, along with any other clean recyclables you’d like to use, such as newspaper, paper grocery bags, cereal boxes, tissue boxes, paper towel rolls, plastic containers, bottle caps, or magazines.

Once your creations are complete, you’ll learn a song and march through the park in a colorful Sustainability Parade featuring recycled fashions, homemade instruments, and plenty of community spirit. A snack will be provided.

Come discover how creativity and reuse can give new life to everyday materials!
