Green Energy Consumers Alliance is excited to invite you to the beautiful Whitman River Hydro facility in Westminster, MA — a source of renewable energy in our backyard.
This tour is held completely outdoors and includes walking on some steep terrain. It is free and open to the public, but space is limited so please RSVP with intent to show up.
You’ll hear from Bob Francis, the owner of the hydro facility, about its history, output, and impact. You’ll also hear how our Green Powered and Green Municipal Aggregation programs support this facility.
Bring a picnic blanket and they’ll provide a light lunch, take a look at electric vehicles on display, and walk a short distance around the site of the dam. The site is known for bald eagle sightings and is just minutes away from the Wachusett Brewing Company and various hiking trails.
