David Attenborough and scientist Johan Rockström examine Earth’s biodiversity collapse exploring issues related to nature, climate change, and the future of humanity. This crisis can still be averted. The film examines just how far we’ve pushed Earth beyond the boundaries that have kept our planet stable for millennia, and what steps must be taken to turn things around. Earth’s life support systems have been so damaged that the planet is “well outside the safe operating space for humanity” scientists have warned. Their assessment found that six out of nine “planetary boundaries” had been broken because of human-caused pollution and destruction of the natural world. This documentary is an eye opener with critically important storytelling. This is the story we all need to see to grasp the gravity of our planet’s future. The future is not determined, rather it is in our hands.
