LexCAN’s Rachel Summers will be hosting a seed collection meet-up at Lincoln Park. Though it is a former landfill, Lincoln Park has amazing native plant meadows and other growths. We’ll talk about ethical collection, how to save seeds, and what to do with them. You can take your seeds home, share your own, or contribute shared seeds to the stock that Rachel will be using to do a variety of seed sharing and distribution projects this winter, including the library.
Seed collection and seed distribution are fun, low-key ways to help make native seed re-patriation easier and more accessible to more people on more square footage.
Assume that the event is cancelled if it is raining heavily on the day of. For updates on this and simmilar future events, email [email protected] to be added to her “seeds & suburban greening:” interest list.
