The Climate Leader Communities program creates a framework to help municipalities in the Green Communities program go further to reduce municipal and community GHG emissions and maximize the energy efficiency of their buildings and vehicles. Municipalities who achieve Climate Leader designation unlock access to new funding for municipal energy efficiency projects. Joanne Bissetta, Director of the Green Communities Division at DOER, will overview the designation process and requirements. Gabby Queenan, Sustainability Manager from the Town of Needham, will share perspectives and practical advice as a recently designated Climate Leader Community.
