Our elected representatives—local, state and national—need to know that their constituents support meaningful and comprehensive action to limit climate change. Make sure your voice is heard! We also need policies and incentives for reducing planet warming emissions, protecting natural systems that absorb carbon, and providing for the inevitable impacts of climate change. Here’s what you can do to help, as important matters arise:
- Run for local office
- Reach out to your local Select Board
- Reach out to your Town Meeting Members to let them know you want clean energy and environmentally friendly bylaws.
- Email or call your State Legislators and U.S. Representative and Senators to ask them to take climate action and promote a just and clean energy future.

Join the LexCAN Advocacy Committee!
The LexCAN Advocacy Committee researches climate-related legislation and policy on the local, state and federal level. We take positions on climate and climate justice issues and provide testimony for local boards and state hearings, as well as in meetings with our legislators. We also inform LexCAN members and the larger community about important opportunities to persuade our elected officials to take substantial action to limit climate change.
