Committees

The Membership Committee works to welcome new members.
LexCAN seeks members who want to contribute ideas and energy to climate-related projects. We welcome people with all levels of interest, ability, and expertise. We strive to be a diverse community.

The Communications Committee works to effectively share information about climate solutions, climate science, and local events with the Lexington community in support of LexCAN’s Vision and Mission. We seek to engage diverse audiences in climate science and solutions through conventional and creative channels.

The Program Committee engages the community by identifying, planning, and implementing programs about the climate crisis in a variety of formats. We collaborate with local and regional organizations to develop and amplify our events.

The Advocacy Committee researches climate-related legislation and policy on the local, state and federal level. We take positions on climate and climate justice issues and provide testimony for local boards and state hearings, as well as in meetings with our legislators. We also inform the community about important opportunities to influence our elected officials to take meaningful action on the climate crisis.
