In this workshop, local gardener and LexFarm board member Chris Thomas will touch on a number of options for making your own fertilizer and garden inputs using simple, sustainable methods. Participants will then make and take home their own fertilizer, made from wild plants growing at the farm.
This workshop is geared towards intermediate and seasoned gardeners alike who are ready to learn something new or close the loop on their eco-friendly home garden, keeping it even more local and sustainable. Methods discussed will include making fertilizers from weeds, calcium fertilizers derived from eggshells, and biological inputs to improve soil health and disease resistance.
