PFAS, or ‘forever chemicals’ are found in everyday products, from cooking pans to mascara.
Sharon Udasin’s new book Poisoning the Well: How Forever Chemicals Contaminated America, traces an ugly history of corporate greed, military impunity and community devastation, along with everyday heroes standing up for our health. The book introduces readers to people who, while fighting for their own lives, take action to fix a broken regulatory system. Sharon will also offer some room for hope, by shedding light on the science that is now breaking down bonds that were for so long deemed unbreakable. Book sale and signing will follow.
Sharon Udasin has been reporting on water issues for 15 years. She received a BA from the University of Pennsylvania in 2007 and an MS from Columbia J-School in 2008. She was a Ted Scripps Fellow in Environmental Journalism at CU Boulder for the 2019-2020 academic year, and earned a SEAL Environmental Journalism Award in 2023.
Reading the book is not necessary to come to the talk.
