Canopy Crew invites you to put down roots at our FIRST EVER Youth Tree Summit and Exhibit!

Canopy Crew is an internship program from Green Cambridge focused on building the next generation of environmental and civic leaders by planting trees on private property across the city.

In the Foundry STEAM Set room, the Summit will consist of student research presentations, a keynote panel, refreshments, and a community clothing swap.👚🔄👖

Through the collaboration with students from the Wentworth Institute of Technology and Lesley University design studiosThe Foundry Community Hall will be transformed into an art exhibit highlighting the beauty and importance of our shared tree canopy.

We will be joined by a panel of esteemed guests and ecology experts. The panel will be made up of: Dr. Bill Moomaw from the Fletcher School at Tufts, Dr. Vanessa Boukili from the City of Somerville, and Sage Carbone, the Community Programs Director from the Fenway CDC. We appreciate each of these exceptional panelists for their time and we are excited to join them in conversation.

We will also be featuring the works of the renowned György Kepes, showcasing some of his curated works. These avant-garde images were most recently shown at The Tate Liverpool, and The Cantor Arts Center. We’re extremely appreciative of the Kepes Estate for allowing us to display György’s suspended black/white microscopic views of roots, leaves, and bark to the general public.

This event is FREE and open to the public with a suggested donation for those able.

Save the date and your gently used clothes! We hope to see you there! 🔥🤪
