SUMMARY:Nondrivers Alliance: A Week without Driving
DESCRIPTION:How do you navigate our community if you don’t own a car? And
  if you do own a car\, what would change in your life if you stopped drivi
 ng it? The Week Without Driving\, an annual event sponsored by the Nondriv
 ers Alliance\, is meant to raise awareness of the more than one third of p
 eople living in the United States that cannot or do not drive. Along with 
 people who choose not to drive\, this group includes those who are too you
 ng to have a drivers’ license\; those who have aged out of driving\; tho
 se with disabilities preventing them from driving\; and those who cannot a
 fford the many expenses associated with owning a private vehicle.\n\nThe W
 eek Without Driving is intended to shed light on the complexities of navig
 ating life without access to a car\, but it also serves as a powerful way 
 to show what a difference sustainable\, inclusive mobility can make in the
  fight for climate justice. Replacing car trips with trips by foot\, bicyc
 le\, scooter\, and public transit helps lower particulate matter emissions
  and eases traffic congestion on our streets. Want to ditch the car for th
