SUMMARY:Middlesex Conservation District: 2026 Spring Plant Sale
DESCRIPTION:ORDER PRODUCTS HERE\n\nWe welcome you to our 2026 Spring Plant
Sale! We will be selling native wildflowers\, grasses\, shrubs\, and more!
We will also be selling fruits and other edible plants! All plants will c
ome as plugs\, tubelings\, or bare root. There will be numerous options av
ailable to you! Root bags\, 6″ Pollinator Pathway signs\, and Garden Lab
els will also be available to purchase. The plants for this sale are comin
g from Dragonfly Nurseries (South Dartmouth\, MA)\, Tree Talk Natives (Roc
hester\, MA)\, and Bagley Pond Perennials (Warner\, NH).\n\nAll of our nat
ive plant varieties are straight species\, meaning that no cultivars will
be sold. It has been found that cultivars often do not have the same benef
its to wildlife that straight species do. Our focus on native species will
help our native pollinators\, increase biodiversity\, and conserve our na
tive plants and animals\, among other benefits.\n\nResearch has shown that
even the addition of a few native plants in an otherwise exotic garden ca
n act as habitat “islands” that could be the difference between strugg
ling and thriving for our local ecosystems. There’s not necessarily a ne
ed to rip out our beloved tulips\, daffodils\, or other non-native ornamen
tals\, as long as we can dedicate a piece of the garden to native varietie
 s. Some natives that we are providing are also great alternatives to non-n
atives. If you would like more information about why native plants are im
portant\, please check out our Resources page under “Plants” and “
Pollinators“.\n\nIf you are curious to learn about the plants native to
Massachusetts and the Northeast\, please click the link below. This Google
sheet is from Massachusetts Pollinator Network’s website\, created by A
my Meltzer and Heidi Dollard\, and provides a comprehensive list of plants
 \, blooming period\, sunlight\, moisture\, and more!
