Last year alone (July 2024 to June 2025)\, residential customers lost $ 87.4 million. Even more concerning\, low-income customers are frequently p ressured to sign up for expensive contracts and are often charged more tha n non-low-income customers. From July 2024 to June 2025\, low-income custo mers enrolled with competitive suppliers lost an average of $286 annually\ , compared to $181 lost by non-low-income customers enrolled with competit ive suppliers. Also\, marketing efforts often impact communities of color and communities with limited English proficiency more than other communiti es.\nFor this Q&\;A\, NCLC Stay Connected staff will be joined by Sierr a Moll\, Energy Consumer Liaison at the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.
