SUMMARY:Green Newton Virtual Event: How ready is Newton to move away from f
 ossil fuels?
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nWe’ve known for some time that electrifying
our homes with technologies like heat pumps is one of the most effective w
ays to cut our reliance on gas and oil… but only a fraction of homeowner
s have done this.  So… how ready is Newton to make this move?\n\nMore s
pecifically:\n\n- How many homes have electrified?\n\n- What do the utilit
ies say it will cost to electrify typical homes\, and what does it actuall
y cost?\n\n- And what barriers to electrifying do residents feel stand in
the way?\n\nThe Newton Electrification Readiness Survey set out to answer
all these questions.  Drawing on responses from more than 200 Newton resi
dents\, it establishes electric equipment adoption rates\, documents curre
nt costs from actual projects\, prioritizes barriers\, and proposes action
s that can help Newton accelerate its electrification.\n\nJoin us to hear
the results and learn what they could mean for a more sustainable Newton.
