SUMMARY:Get a Ride to the Polls for Early Voting from the Lexington League
 of Women Voters
DESCRIPTION:\n\nCALL THE LEAGUE AT (339) 223-0832. EARLY VOTING HOURS CAN B
E FOUND HERE.\n\nLexington\, Mass. — The League of Women Voters of Lexin
gton (MA) is expanding its Rides to the Polls program to provide rides to
voters not only on Election Day\, November 3\, but also during the early v
oting period\, October 17 to October 30.\n\nThe new ride dates are intende
d to accommodate voters who wish to vote early or who want to deliver thei
r mail-in ballots in person\, but need transportation to do so. Rides can
be arranged by calling the League at (339) 223-0832. Contact information w
ill also be available from the Town Clerk’s office.\n\n“We want the co
nvenience of early voting available to everyone\,” said Margaret Coppe\,
convenor of the League’s Lexington chapter. In a lawsuit filed by the L
eague of Women Voters\, the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts\, and
other civic groups\, the Supreme Court recently blocked new U.S. Postal Se
rvice rules that would have stopped the delivery of certain mail-in ballot
 s. Nevertheless\, Coppe said\, “Many voters remain concerned. Our expand
ed rides program will help everyone to return their mail-in ballots in per
son if they prefer.”\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nThe League of Women Voters of Lexingt
on (MA) is a non-partisan organization dedicated to the principles of self
government established in the Constitution of the United States. The Leag
ue works to promote political responsibility through informed and active p
 articipation of citizens in government.\n\n
