 s online interactive one-hour workshop.\n\nBackyard Habitat Chat invites 
 residents to explore practical\, sustainable ways to attract birds\, polli
 nators\, and beneficial insects while enhancing the ecological health of t
 heir own yards. Participants will learn how to select native species\, des
 ign wildlife-friendly gardens\, and support biodiversity in the face of cl
 imate change and other environmental stressors. Whether you have a small b
 alcony\, a suburban yard\, or several acres\, this session will offer acti
 onable tips and local resources to help you create a beautiful\, climate-s
 mart habitat that supports both people and nature.\n\nAbout our Presenter:
 \n\nBreeka Li (bree-kah lie) is a certified Professional Wetland Scientis
 t and Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner (in Training). She hol
 ds a Bachelor’s of Science in Natural Resources with a minor in Sustaina
 bility\, and graduate coursework from OSU and SNHU. She is currently worki
 ng on a graduate certificate in the Master Melittology Program through OSU
  and her arborist certification through the ISA.\n\nBreeka Li has conduct
 ed numerous wetland delineations\, restorations\, and other environmental 
 studies. One of her fondest memories is collaring and tagging black bears 
 in northern Minnesota and sharing a bear hug with a yearling cub during he
 r undergraduate coursework. Breeka Li has also worked with gray wolves\,
  little brown bats\, woodpeckers/emerald ash borers\, and box turtles. Des
 pite holding the designation of “Professional Wetland Scientist”\, Br
 eeka Li considers herself a general ecologist. She prefers to look at lan
 dscapes\, their connections\, and their intricacies\, noting the centraliz
 ed importance of water and wetland ecosystems to landscape inhabitants (i.
 e.\, “Water is Life”).\n\nBreeka Li strives to create a culture of la
 nd stewardship and encourages everyone to learn about ecology\, ecological
  restoration\, and the reciprocal relationship one can have with the plane
 t. When Breeka Li is not working\, she is either volunteering or working
  on her permaculture farm with her family\, pet pig\, cat\, and chickens.
  Breeka Li utilizes her ecological knowledge to raise native solitary be
 es\, grow organic (not certified) produce and herbal medicine while utiliz
 ing native companion plants\, and restoring portions of her farm to pre-di
 sturbance conditions. If Breeka Li were to have a middle name it would b
 e “sustainable subsistence”.\n\nBreeka Li also has experience in wild
 land firefighting\, Phase I/Phase II ESAs\, and has put in significant hou
 rs for continuing education through the MN Wetland Professionals Associati
 on\, NAWM\, Institute for Wetland &amp\; Environmental Education &amp\; Re
 search\, Southern New Hampshire University\, Ecological Research Institute
 \, and University of Minnesota.
