Many native seeds need a cold period to germinate\, which naturally occurs outdoors. Using the winter-sow method\, we’ll tur n milk jugs into mini greenhouses to protect your seeds so they can be lef t outside all winter long. Our focus will be on native host and nectar pla nts that support native pollinators as well as the National Wildlife Feder ation’s Mayors’ Monarch Pledge\, an initiative to increase natural hab itat\, boost biodiversity\, and help support monarch butterfly populations . By spring\, watch your seedlings sprout and thrive!\n\n \;\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Instructors:\n\n\nJean Devine\n\n\n\n\n\nJean Devi ne is an environmental educator\, native-plant coach\, and specialty lands caper. She is founder and director of for-profit Devine Native Plantings\, LLC\, and not-for-profit Biodiversity Builders (BB)\, a paid-learning pro gram designed to inspire and empower high school youth to be Earth Steward s and make an ecological impact in their communities. She also is a co-fou nder and steering committee member of the Mystic Charles Pollinator Pathwa ys Group (MCPPG).\n\nBrucie Moulton\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBrucie Moulton is an enthusiastic\, life-long gardener.
